Cree Lexicon is a Cree-language dictionary and learning app made by WolfWhale EdTech. We built it privacy-first: it collects as little as possible, shows no ads, and never sells your data or tracks you across other apps or websites.
Your learning progress — words seen, review schedule, streaks, XP, and collected words — is stored locally on your device. If you never create an account, this information never leaves your device.
Friends & leaderboards are optional. If you choose to use them, an account is created and we store a small amount of data on our servers (Supabase, hosted in Canada, region ca-central-1):
We do not require your email or any real-world identity. Accounts are anonymous by default. If you choose Sign in with Apple (to sync across devices), Apple provides an identifier; you may hide your email, and the app works without one.
If you tap “report this word,” we record which entry you flagged so we can review it. This is not linked to any personal information beyond your account identifier.
Cree Lexicon is suitable for all ages and is designed for classrooms. We collect the minimum needed, use no advertising or tracking, and do not create public profiles for anyone.
You can use the entire dictionary, games, and Word Machine without an account. If you created an account and want your leaderboard data deleted, contact us and we will remove it.
Cree is a living language that belongs to its communities. We follow OCAP® principles (Ownership, Control, Access, Possession). Sacred stories are held under community governance and are not shipped in the app.
